Highlights from the “Pushing the frontiers of molecular dynamics simulations” workshop

Our recent workshop, Pushing the frontiers of molecular dynamics simulations, held in Lausanne from October 7 to 9, 2024, successfully brought together 45 onsite and 148 online participants, featuring 20 expert speakers and 13 poster presentations. This event underscored the growing importance of molecular dynamics (MD) in various scientific fields, particularly in understanding complex biological systems.

The workshop provided a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration, offering participants the opportunity to explore both recent advancements and ongoing challenges in the MD field. A key focus was placed on identifying critical areas for improvement and establishing a forward-looking roadmap to guide future developments in MD, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and ideas among experts, and ensuring that MD continues to thrive as critical tool for deciphering the molecular mechanisms of life.
